Our adventure in China began a couple of years ago by chance – or for fun, thanks to the acquaintance through mutual friends of a Chinese influencer residing in Italy, in love with made in Italy, with Italian style, but above all with Italian food & drinks.
Through his videos on TIK TOK, our affirmation on the Chinese market began.
Until two years ago, destruction followed the classic channel of sales to the importer, therefore all subsequent steps and above all the direct relationship with the final consumer were entrusted to him and/or his distributors.
Thanks to the experience with TikTok everything has changed, the presence of Polvanera wines has literally exploded throughout China and not just in a small and restricted geographical area.
If even here in the West the world of online entertainment is increasingly interconnected with that of commerce and sales, let’s imagine how it works in China, where the connection is real and immediate, where this app is used constantly by all users, of any social background and age.
Breaking down any sort of space/time barrier, Polvanera wines and the cellar forcefully enter the life of the final consumer, through the screen of his phone, who can therefore see where we are, how we work, how we uncork a bottle, how we taste the wines and, through a simple click, can purchase the bottles seen on video and receive them at home within 48 hours.
The interesting note of this “innovative sale” is that there really are no limits to the types of products offered. The influencer talks about a wine, any one, and orders are received.
This means not limiting yourself to a small range of products that are usually selected by importers, but ranging between reds, rosés, whites, sparkling wines, prestigious historical vintages, special packages, special formats. Even dessert wines, which are usually extremely difficult to sell outside the national border, with this media tamtam manage to interest and make themselves attractive.
It goes without saying that our sales in China have jumped 1,000 percent over the past.
So much so that the Italy China Council Foundation – ICCF of Milan, born from the integration between the Italy China Foundation and the Italian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, a few days ago awarded a prestigious award to our owner Filippo Cassano. This is the China Award 2022, XVII edition, which rewards companies and personalities who have best known how to seize the opportunities offered by the exchange between China and Italy.
